EverRoot Learning Collective is looking for two passionate educators to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year!
Now Hiring: Farm School Teacher
Location: Judson Family Farms, Sumter, SC
Schedule: Mondays & Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Compensation: $125 per day
Position Type: Part-Time, W-2 Employee
School Year Start Date: September 8, 2025
About the Position
At EverRoot Learning Collective, we believe that children learn best through experience—whether that’s planting a garden, caring for animals, or exploring the natural world. We are seeking creative and adaptable educators who can lead engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students ages 5-16.
As a Farm School Teacher, you will:
Lead 1.5-hour experiential lessons for your assigned age group (~10 students).
Teach six large-group lessons throughout the school year, engaging students ages 5-16.
Create a student-centered, movement-rich learning environment that fosters curiosity.
Utilize farm life, nature, and real-world applications to teach core skills and concepts.
Ensure a safe and engaging environment for all students while allowing independence.
Important Pre-School Year Commitments
To help you prepare for a successful school year, we have the following important dates for staff:
Staff Retreat (Summer 2025) – 2 day retreat (date TBD) to connect as a team and align on vision.
Teacher Workdays (August – Early September 2025) – 3-4 scheduled days to set up classrooms and prepare for the year.
Welcome Back Open House (September 2, 2025) – Meet families and introduce them to the EverRoot experience.
Who Should Apply?
We are looking for individuals who are:
Passionate about hands-on learning and engaging students through real-world experiences.
Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and leading lessons in a farm setting.
Creative, adaptable, and excited to work with mixed-age groups.
Experienced in leading project-based or experiential learning (this could be in education, outdoor programs, community learning, homeschooling, or similar fields).
Eager to create engaging lessons that encourage movement, discovery, and exploration.
